YES YES YES BEST EPISODE EVER (from a Wemma perspective) and YES I could have found room for MORE EMMA PILLSBURY.

Things I loved about YES NO.

In no order of importance because it was easiest to make the list as I watched the episode for the 848984759852nd time.

YES:

1   Summer Lovin’
2.    Puck kissing Sam’s hand
3.    Rachel’s red poncho jacket
4.    Santana kicking Rachel and Mercedes off the seat.
5.    Brittany’s reaction to Santana kicking Rachel and Mercedes off the seat (captured oh so fleetingly).
6.    Kurt singing with the girls
7.    Sugar lifting an earmuff presumably to hear the song properly.
8.    Santana and Brittany giving each other flirty looks near the end of the song.
9.    The way Mercedes and Sam were filmed on the blue background at the end of the song – it made me laugh. If there is one thing Glee does well, it’s pay a good homage to the original.
10. Helen Mirren’s voice for Becky – hilarious and so was the dialogue. Brad Falchuck I bow to you.
11.  Sue in every scene. Everything she said to Becky, Artie and Emma. ‘For God’s sake Amelia, it’s 2012, if you want to marry Will Schuester, ask him!’
12. Bieste eating TWO chickens in celebration of getting married.
13. Wedding Bell Blues – the song and the montage. HILARIOUS. Emma’s adorable face, wrapped in a shower cap, suddenly poking out from behind the shower curtain/the dancing/the kiss/Sue and Bieste as back up singers/Emma’s facial expressions during the song were sublime/THE EVERYTHING. Faultless.
14. The look on Will’s face when he realizes Emma has asked him to marry him.
15.  Will’s excitement at the thought of proposing to Emma.
16. The way the kids cheer and clap when Will announces he’s proposing to Emma. It’s almost like they’re doing it on behalf of all Wemma shippers. Kurt does a ‘Wallace and Gromit’ style hands shaking in the air thing!
17.  Will saying, ‘This proposal needs to knock her well washed socks off.’
18.  Coach Roz Washington’s medal for individual synchronized swimming!
19.  Artie and Mike telling Will he has Mick Jagger hips.
20.  Moves like Jagger – the song and the dance number – please RIB more and more Matt dancing.
21. The First Time Ever I saw Your Face – the song and the montage.
22.  Emma confronting Will about marriage scene – Jayma’s performance was heart wrenching.
23. Without You – the song.
24. Emma’s frustration at not being able to stop cleaning.
25.  Emma’s pamphlets ‘ Dying Alone/Happily Never After/So You’re a Spinster.
26.  Emma taking Will’s hand in slow motion.
27.  We Found Love song and the Proposal montage.
28.  Artie and his wheel chair going into the pool.
29. The proposal dialogue. Brad, once again – LOVE your writing.
30.  The look on Rachel and Brittany’s faces during Will’s proposal – summed up every Wemma shipper’s feelings.
Emma crying after the proposal and Will looking like he was crying too when he was kissing her.

NO (or How They Could Have Put More Emma Pillsbury Into the Episode):

1.    Will saying to Finn he’s taught him how to be a man. Repetitive. Finn has said the same thing to Will and Kurt and Burt have been in on the subject too. Enough. Use the screen time for more Emma Pillsbury.

2.    Will saying he’s having a bachelor party fills me with dread. Let’s do the equation for a stereotypical bachelor party: a group of men + alcohol + bad ideas + stupid actions = bachelor party. Unless Will’s bachelor party is an atypical one, I don’t want him to have one. Does that mean Emma will have a ‘hen’s night’. I find the term totally derogatory towards women and have trouble using it. I’m hoping Emma will not use the term or have one of those either, unless she can come home slightly inebriated from it and as a result seduce Will, then that would be a worthwhile party. RIB forget any bachelor party idea and use the time for a deep and meaningful moment with Emma Pillsbury.

3.    No clips of Will and Emma during the ‘First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ montage. Missed a perfect opportunity to have more Emma Pillsbury.

4.    Emma confronting Will about marriage – this scene had a delicious dose of Emma Pillsbury for us but it could have been made longer: Will loves her so much, I was half expecting him to run after her, crying too and hugging and kissing her and then Rachel could have sung ‘Without you’ and there could have been a whole further montage of Wemma moments. Another missed opportunity.

5.    And finally, what happened to the most heartfelt kiss ever scene on TV that Emma was meant to initiate? (Jayma read this out from the script in BTS) Their kiss at the end was WAY TOO SHORT. What was the director thinking? I’m starting to think they need an Emma Pillsbury scene quota and scene length advisor on the set. Put your hands down, mine was up first.

6.    Everything that happened after the proposal could have been replaced with more Wemma. Just saying.
