*Emma looked like she needed a hug in this scene but Will doesn't touch her; why? She is an emotional mess and contributing to that 'mess' (in her mind) involves her feelings for Will. She is also feeling ashamed, mortified, hopeless, sad and lonely but she wants to feel like she still has some control and dignity, therefore she doesn't want anyone's pity. Will shows how well he understands Emma by not opening his arms and saying 'here let me comfort you' but instead he gives Emma some dignity by putting on her gloves and cleaning her grapes to say, all other feelings aside, here I am as your friend to give you sustenance and strength because I believe in you.
